Travail

By Carl  Scharwath

I crouched behind the sofa
wrapped like a present
waiting in the
psychological shafts of light.

Secret stories unfold
like newly discovered
ancient tablets decaying
Into the dust of the mind.

Sleep deprivation, words
flowing as particles
clogging the mind in
a repeated journey of distraction.

Can clarity shimmer in
dew dripped morning luminosity
with silhouetted ariels dancing
on the graves of forgotten oblivion?
