Mr Lonely, you look like me,
Why stare at me when I look in the mirror?
You know the creatures
That creep on the floor boards,
And all the creatures
That call in the bushes,
From the hooting owl
To the screeching bats
And fireflies that flicker with light.
You count the stars
At the fall of night,
You go a'fishin down river
At the come of light,
There the water never stops running,
Like you, from itself.
For you're ever alone
Yet you look like me!
Mr Lonely, you look like me,
Why stare at me when I look in the mirror?
